Managing time is a difficult task for anyone, especially the average working mom. In addition to your work responsibilities, you likely have all the responsibilities of being a wife and/or mother.
If you’re like me, you’re a stay-at-home mom.
Without proper time management, things can get overwhelming. Developing effective time management strategies can help reduce stress and allow you to focus on the task at hand and accomplish more. This week is the time to get the work done and reflect. By putting everything together, you can break your tasks into smaller pieces and complete them each week. This time management method will help your tasks seem less daunting and make it easier to focus without stress. Create a list and prioritize the items on it. Think about all the important opportunities that will come up and complete those tasks and solve those problems first. Then look at the activities that have the biggest impact.
You’ll get more “bang for your buck” this way.

Managing your time around your child’s needs and schedule can help you accomplish more in a day.
If possible, try to get up in the morning while your kids are still asleep and see how much you can get done before they wake up. It can also be helpful to try working while they’re asleep or busy.
Another tip for effective time management is to find and make the most of your “free” time. When you’re in line at Target, the store, or anywhere, pull out your phone and send an email. Need some clothes? When your favorite reality show airs, throw your clothes on your bed and fold them while you watch!
Give your team small tasks to focus on. If that means giving the kids small tasks like putting away toys or doing the dirty laundry, so be it. It’s also good to have coworkers or friends in your office who can handle certain tasks, like scheduling meetings or reviewing documents. Want to grab a bite to eat at home but a deadline is looming? When you have an hour to do something you need to do, even if it means ordering takeout and picking it up at the door, ask your husband, a friend, a family member, or someone else to check in that night. The lighter the load on your shoulders, the lighter and lighter you’ll feel. These activities create off hours instead of scheduled hours.
Remember how your classes were divided into scheduled times in high school and you had gym class every day? Did it always work like clockwork? Studies show that a block plan like this is better for productivity and data storage. You create a small daily to-do list and set a time for each task and when you’ll try to tackle them. It’s also very helpful to apply this method to your daily life.
