In a formal ceremony attended by esteemed members of Kinnar Akhara, Mamta Kulkarni, renowned for her collaborations with prominent actors such as Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan, has embraced her new role as Mahamandaleshwar. She will now be referred to as Yamai Mamta Nand Giri. Prior to assuming her position, Mamta diligently performed all requisite rituals, including her Pinddaan at the Sangam in Prayagraj.
Mamta was seen embodying the persona of a Sadhvi, drawing considerable attention during the Maha Kumbh. Reports indicate that she returned to India specifically for this event. Upon her arrival, she publicly announced her intention to participate in the Mahakumbh, and subsequently, significant news emerged regarding her appointment as Mahamandaleshwar of Kinnar Akhara.
The title of Mahamandaleshwar was conferred upon Mamta following her meeting with Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Laxmi Narayan Tripathi at 11 PM on Thursday night, which initiated the formal process of her elevation.
As part of the ceremonial proceedings, Mamta first performed her Pinddaan before taking a sacred dip in the Sangam. Following these rituals, she was consecrated within Kinnar Akhara and officially assumed the title of Mahamandaleshwar, during which she displayed profound emotion, with tears evident in her eyes.
Throughout the ceremony, Mamta donned saffron attire and wore a Rudraksha garland around her neck. The ritual included a ceremonial bath with milk, attended by numerous dignitaries from Kinnar Akhara.
Mamta revealed that her spiritual journey commenced in the year 2000, under the guidance of her guru, Shri Chaitanya Gagan Giri Guru Nath, after receiving initiation at an ashram in Kupoli. In a statement to ANI, Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Laxmi Narayan of Kinnar Akhara confirmed, “The process of Mamta’s formal inclusion in Kinnar Akhara is ongoing. She has been named Yamai Mamta Nandgiri.”
