Which four types of yoga can help you refocus and calm your mind and body?

These practices can help you feel more relaxed.

You’ve probably heard more than once that yoga is a great way to get rid of negative thoughts, calm down, and achieve well-being. But things aren’t always that simple. There are many types of this ancient practice, each with its own purpose: some help to replenish energy and lift the spirits, others help to relax and de-stress. Today we will discuss the second approach and explain which branch of yoga will really calm you down even in the most difficult times.

Healing Yoga
If you are recovering from illness or stress and want to heal your body and calm down, this is where you should start.

This type of yoga is characterized by its gentle action on the muscles, so it can be practiced by beginners. It uses props to support the body, and there are no sudden changes from one position to another like in Vinyasa flow. If you are new to healing yoga, we recommend holding each position for 5 to 15 minutes, but ideally you should hold each position for 20 minutes. The quiet of the class and meditation can bring about a deep sense of calm.

yoga Nidra
Other meditation practices can help you relax by getting in touch with yourself and your subconscious mind. In yoga nidra, there is no talk of changing poses — you simply sit in silence. After practicing Savasana, you listen to the instructions and guidance of the instructor, which helps to clear your thoughts and memories of the physical world. During the movement, the muscles relax and the blood flow slows down. Studies show that an hour of yoga nidra can replace four hours of restful sleep.

Flowing Yoga
Vinyasa means that movements occur simultaneously with the breathing phase (for example, when inhaling, bending down, when exhaling, raising the arms), and flow is translated as flowing, flowing. This direction is one of the newer branches of Hatha yoga. Its feature is the flow and freedom of the practitioner’s movements. This allows you to relax and be creative without following the rules of performing asanas. Iyengar
One of the most peaceful and gentle ways, meditation is to relax the mind and be free from negative thoughts. In addition, Iyengar is considered to be a safe practice: during the classes, the individual characteristics of the body structure and preparation are considered.
All exercises are done using special equipment to help avoid injury: pillows and cushions are placed under your back, head and legs to keep you comfortable and focused.
