Whip Up and Store These 2 Awesome Date Dishes This Winter

Winter is the perfect time to experiment in the kitchen. We all love cozy, warm foods that keep us feeling energized. Today, I’m sharing a couple of tasty recipes featuring dates, which are super popular in winter. Eating dates is not only delicious but also packed with antioxidants and vitamins that boost your immune system. They’re even good for folks with diabetes! Besides snacking on them, you can whip up some sweet treats. Here are two easy dessert recipes you can make and store for the winter.

Date Pak

Ingredients:

  • 400 grams of dates (pitted)
  • 10-12 almonds (chopped)
  • 8-10 cashews (chopped)
  • 8-10 pistachios (chopped)
  • 1 bowl of makhana (ground)
  • 15-20 raisins (chopped)
  • 4-5 walnuts (chopped)
  • Half a bowl of coconut powder
  • 2 tablespoons of white sesame seeds
  • Ghee (for frying)

How to Make It:

  1. Start by removing the pits from the dates and lightly grinding them in a mixer.
  2. In a pan, heat some ghee and roast the ground dates on low heat until they’re nice and fragrant. Once done, set them aside.
  3. In the same pan, add a bit more ghee and roast all the chopped dry fruits until golden. Take them out and set aside.
  4. Add the roasted dates back to the pan, mix in the dry fruits, and then stir in the coconut powder. Turn off the heat and mix everything well.
  5. Line a tray with butter paper and spread the mixture evenly. Use a spatula to press it down and sprinkle some chopped dry fruits on top.
  6. Let it cool for a bit, then cut it into your desired shapes. You can store these in an airtight container for up to a week.

Date Biscuits

Ingredients:

  • 1 bowl of wheat flour
  • 1 bowl of crushed dates
  • Jaggery (powdered)
  • A pinch of baking soda
  • Half a bowl of butter
  • Half a bowl of coconut powder
  • Mixed dry fruits (chopped)

How to Make It:

  1. Melt the butter in a pan, then turn off the heat.
  2. Mix in the wheat flour, crushed dates, and jaggery until everything is well combined.
  3. Add the chopped dry fruits and baking soda, and mix again.
  4. Grease your hands with a little oil, then shape the mixture into biscuit-sized balls.
  5. Roll the biscuits in coconut powder and coat them with dry fruits.
  6. Bake them in the oven or microwave until they’re done.

These date treats are sure to be a hit with everyone, from kids to adults! You can make them throughout the winter and serve them after meals or to guests.
