Guidance on the Utilization of a Sequin Dress Post-New Year: Insights from Stylist Lisovets

As the New Year approaches, many individuals have already procured gifts, devised festive menus, and selected their attire to ensure they are well-prepared for the celebrations on New Year’s Eve.

Experts recommend opting for green ensembles, as the upcoming Year of the Snake will be characterized by this color palette. Acceptable shades range from soft light green to rich emerald, with sand, gray, brown, and black also being suitable choices.

In preparation for the Year of the Snake in 2025, stylist Vladislav Lisovets advises against the impulse to purchase entirely new and expensive outfits, as this may lead to challenges in determining their future wearability.

“I believe that a single accessory can effectively refresh an outfit. For instance, if one possesses a blouse and a skirt, simply adding a new jacket can create a fresh appearance. Alternatively, if a jacket is already owned, incorporating a stylish shirt or blouse can impart a sense of novelty. It is advisable to refrain from investing in overly trendy garments, as fashion trends evolve rapidly. When selecting an outfit for the New Year, consider its versatility for future occasions. If it can be worn again, it is a prudent choice,” states the stylist in an interview with Woman.ru.

Retailers typically offer formal dresses as early as December, with sequin and lurex options being particularly popular. However, one may wonder how to repurpose such an outfit after the holiday festivities.

By assembling a well-curated capsule wardrobe, it is possible to wear a sequin dress even on ordinary days.

An effective approach is to layer a sweater, sweatshirt, or jacket over the dress. Alternatively, one might consider utilizing only the upper portion of the dress, transforming it into a blouse. It is essential that the New Year’s outfit is form-fitting, allowing for the addition of a denim skirt without creating excessive visual bulk.
